Remembering the 80's

My 20th high school reunion is coming up this June and it got me thinking about the 80's. I have so many cool memories of growing up in the 80's. The big hair! Brand new cable channels, the music, the fashion, the hang outs. I know everybody must remember fondly their highschool years, but seriously...The 80's have to be the best! MTV just came out. Remember those very first cable boxes where you had to flip the switch on the box to change the channel? And if you put a match stick in the switch of the HBO channel (which cost more so nobody really had it) then wrapped the flat cable wire in foil it would unscramble...sorta! Whenever I spent the night at my best friends house she wouldn't let us go to sleep until we saw a Loverboy video! She was in love with Mike Reno. (Remember that poster of him with the tight red leather pants and bandana. Now that's HOT!) Oh, I know...remember when MTV actually played music videos?? But if you were so unfortunate not to have that precious cable box sitting a top your TV you could still watch music videos on one of the big four air channels late Friday night. The movie "Footloose" came out in 1984 and I thought that was the best movie ever! Imagine...a school not allowing a prom dance! Now, as a parent in the new millennium I'm like...right! Dancing bad! Remember Ariel's red boots in that movie? I STILL have those boots and wear them on occasion! I'm such a nerd!

Wow! It's been awhile

A lot has happened since November of last year since I posted! The short version...Marissa Kay was born late January, 14 weeks early. After 99 days in the NICU, we are finally home. It's great getting to be a family again. Having a baby in the house has been such a blessing! It's a joy to watch the older three interact with a baby. The 4 year old is most enamored with her! This experience with Marissa has showed us so much! Our faith has grown leaps and bounds! I would never wish this on anybody but it has been good for us to once again know that God is sovereign and His purpose is His Glory! We wouldn't have made it through this time without the body of Christ! If anybody ever wondered how the church was supposed to work...this was it! Thank you! Better days are ahead!!
